Anxiety Relief with Breathwork
Anxiety Relief with Breathwork
It’s so difficult when you are in the depths of anxiety and in the vast expanse of overwhelm, or when the physical symptoms of the autoimmune disease linger day in day out to truly remember who you are. You become the anxiety, the low mood or the sickness, like there is a permanent label attached to you. “I am anxiety”, it may say, or “I am constantly tired” or “my pain consumes me”.
I remember in the depths of my journey with endometriosis, infertility and grief, it was all consuming. I felt like a label had been attached to me of “I have endometriosis” and I had been left to live with that label forever.
Now, I am pleased to say, there are no labels, just access to feelings of joy, peace, serenity and contentment. If there was any label it would read, “I am free”, for I truly do feel like the worst is behind me, and I get to live the life I am meant to, helping and serving people like you. I get to help you discard the labels of suffering, of your condition, or your circumstance and I get to guide you back to you.
Connecting with the breath or breathwork is one of the many techniques I leaned on in the worst of my sickness, and struggle with anxiety, and a modality I continue to practice to this day to enable my energy to stay grounded. When my mind is whirling, and my heart begins to pound, I know it’s time to connect in with my breath.
There are many breathwork practices. This is just one practice you can try. Click the red arrow below to play the YouTube video.
Breathwork – Breathwork involves utilising different breathing techniques like diaphragmatic breathing to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, in order to promote relaxation and reduce anxiety.
Breathwork improves focus, reduces stress, and boosts overall performance by enhancing oxygen flow to the brain and muscles. Studies have shown that controlled breathing techniques can lower heart rate, decrease blood pressure, and improve mental clarity.
Breathwork is one of five Healing and Wellbeing modalities included into my online Flow into Wellness sessions that begin on Saturday 2nd November at 4 pm.
Join me fortnightly for 75 minutes of complete relaxation from the comfort of your own home.
What does a Flow into Wellness Session involve?
Each session is an hour and 15 minutes long and takes place on zoom. The format stays the same in each session, but the content varies. The session begins with breathing techniques, followed by visualisation and meditation. You will then be guided through a creative technique, which can be anything from mark making to using natural elements as creative tools. The session then flows into some movement, in the form of qigong, dance or intuitive movement, and then finishes with sound healing, with a variety of sounds produced from different instruments.

What is the Flow State?
It is the total absorption in an activity, where concentration is focused completely, and the distractions of the mind fade. Flow activities bring you completely into the present moment, and create space for the mind to relax and let go. When the mind relaxes, we enable space for energy to begin to flow, and opportunity for the body to release any stagnation. Regular Flow State practices promote and boost feelings of wellbeing.
