What is Anchored in Stillness?
Build inner resilience and stay grounded through life’s challenges
Anchored in Stillness is a profound Dru Yoga experience designed to help you build unshakeable inner resilience and physical stability, like a mountain amidst the stresses of modern life. Through gentle, dynamic movements and deep relaxation, you’ll learn practical tools to help you release tension and stay grounded, no matter what challenges come your way.
Each session is an hour and 15 minutes long and takes place in the yurt at Haven House, in Wick, in Caithness. The format stays the same in each session, but the content varies. The session begins with breathing techniques, followed by body activations to warm the muscles. You will be then guided through Energy Block Flows, dynamic movements and postures to help move energy through the body. The session ends with Relaxation and lying down Meditation.
The Benefits
Breathwork – Breathwork involves utilising different breathing techniques like diaphragmatic breathing to activate the parasympathetic nervous system, in order to promote relaxation and reduce anxiety. Breathwork improves focus, reduces stress, and boosts overall performance by enhancing oxygen flow to the brain and muscles. Studies have shown that controlled breathing techniques can lower heart rate, decrease blood pressure, and improve mental clarity.
Meditation – Meditation offers numerous benefits for individuals of all backgrounds and lifestyles. Scientific research has shown that regular meditation practice can reduce stress, anxiety, and symptoms of depression. It can also improve focus, concentration, and cognitive function.
Dru Yoga – Dru Yoga improves physical flexibility and posture through its unique approach that combines gentle movements, flowing sequences, and mindful awareness. The practice incorporates a variety of asanas (yoga poses) that target different muscle groups, gradually stretching and strengthening them. By encouraging relaxation and deep breathing, Dru Yoga helps to release tension held in the body, allowing muscles to lengthen and become more supple.
Additionally, Dru Yoga emphasises alignment and proper body mechanics. This awareness promotes better posture as you learn to engage your core muscles and support your spine while moving. The focus on flowing movements helps to build a better mind-body connection, leading to improved coordination and balance. Overall, the combination of these elements helps you achieve greater flexibility and maintain an upright, aligned posture.
