An Enlightening Message
I am not blogging about what I thought I would be blogging about today. I thought I would be waxing lyrical about the glorious North Coast 500 route that I am so proud to be part of and the back to basics/back to nature trip that I have just been on. No, it seems not. It seems I have more pressing matters that need to be expressed. So bear with me whilst I examine my soul and expose it to you.
Life is hard, life is tough. I thought that when I was growing up that by the time I was in my thirties everything would have slotted into place and all my dreams would be coming true. I believed in ‘happy ever after’. In some ways that is the case and I am blessed in more ways than I could imagine, yet in other ways it is a daily struggle. And as I observe my close friends and family, I realise it’s not just me, it’s others too. Everybody is ‘going through’ something.
I wonder how people endure hardship, suffering and pain without faith because it’s in times like these that I cling to my faith. Faith in what you may ask? Faith in the knowledge that everything is happening for a reason, and that every single thing that is happening is refining me into the person that God wants me to become. Yes I do believe in God, a higher power, a creator. And it is this mighty God who is changing me from the inside out to become a stronger, wiser, more loving, warrior of a being. The process is ridiculously painful as each layer of worldly nonsense gets stripped from me. And for me this process seems to be happening so rapidly I can hardly keep up with it. Just as I get to an even keel and am comfortable something happens to tear off another layer. Anything that I may become attached to that isn’t Spirit is torn from me and my focus is forced to return to Spirit.
But now I am resigned to the literal enlightening process or the physical unburdening I gain so much peace and comfort in the fact that what I am going through can be used for the benefit of others. I urge you today to swim, start paddling, keep moving, do whatever it takes to stay afloat, but do not sink. Your wave is on its way..the wave that will carry you and raise you higher than you have ever been lifted. When I am enduring pain I turn inwards and draw on the glorious, pure power that resides in me. The same power you have within you.
I know for some of you this blog will not connect, and that’s ok, it’s not for you. And you are probably asking what this has to do with art and painting. All I can say is EVERYTHING. I am what I paint. My soul speaks on the canvas. The purer my spirit, the clearer my visions. So thank you for appreciating and liking my art. As I go deeper my paintings change but I am ok with that. All I ask is that you stay with me and watch this magical path unfolding.
There are no new paintings this week as I have been away, but do please browse my website.
Lots of love,
Lisa Weller xx
