This Artist’s Year in Scotland
I am signing off now for the year because on Saturday I fly to Australia for the Christmas holidays!! I never saw that coming but we were blessed with the generous offer of some tickets and now we get to spend time with my husband’s brother and family in Brisbane. So as of Friday I will officially be on my holidays and I intend to enjoy every second of it!
But first let me reflect on a great year. Every year I get to the end, look back and rub my eyes. I made it. Not only did I make it but I made steps forward and my dreams are another step closer to manifesting. Yes of course I would love for my dreams to be here now right in front of me, but it doesn’t work like that. I have to put in the hard work, cover the ground, sweat the stress and cry the tears for this thing to become real..because at the end of the day it’s not about the dream coming into being, it is about me becoming who I am meant to be. Like a diamond I am being refined and buffered to shine even brighter. Each trial that comes, each setback that happens is merely part of a process of purification. What I tell you and show you in my blogs are the positives but believe me for every step of progress there is equal resistance pulling me in the opposite direction, trying to pull me from my path. Despite this I dig deep and move forwards trusting that God has my back, and he does 🙂
To return to my reflecting on this year in Scotland – 2015 was the year my commissioned painting was presented to HRH the Prince of Wales, who I had the privilege of meeting here in Caithness.

I have worked on and completed many other commissions throughout the year. I have increased my product range. I have expanded into new outlets. I had a very successful Open Studio Day. I sold un-commissioned pieces. I attracted new customers and retained old ones 😉 . I have continued to explore and enjoy this wonderful landscape of Caithness and found pockets of joy. I continued to write both in blogs and creatively and hopefully have inspired a few people to follow their dreams. See for me, I don’t see myself as just as an artist, I am me and I give you what comes from inside of me, but I happen to paint as well. Don’t get me wrong painting is a huge part of me, but it is the intention behind my painting that is more important.

And as for next year..I have plans, of course I do. The doors of the cottage are going to be open on a regular basis to allow people to browse if they are passing. I have commissions booked already and I am looking at more outlets. I am open to surprises and blessings too..You just never know what can happen in a year!
So thank you for following me and being with me on this journey. Thank you so much for your purchases and support. I really am so grateful. From me and my little cottage –
Have a lovely Christmas. See you next year.
Lots of love,
Lisa Weller xx
